The star of star photography is, without doubt, the talented David LaChapelle, the photographer whose style is perfectly unmistakable. He has photographed personalities as diverse as Tupac Shakur, Madonna, Amanda Lepore, Eminem, Philip Johnson, Lance Armstrong, Pamela Anderson, Lil’ Kim, Uma Thurman, Elizabeth Taylor, David Beckham, Paris Hilton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hillary Clinton, Muhammad Ali, and Britney Spears, to name just a few. Once called the Fellini of photography, LaChapelle has worked for the most prestigious international publications and has been the subject of exhibitions in both commercial galleries and leading

public institutions around the world. Celebrating the visionary LaChapelle’s truly extraordinary photography, this 698- page, XL-sized book by Taschen is packed cover-to-cover with vibrantfull-bleed images; the best of his entire career to date. Bursting at the seams with spectacle and drama, and saturated with colors that only LaChapelle can realize, this limited edition pays tribute to the most daring and ambitious photographer in the history of portraiture.

Winners were announced at the Pombal Palace, Lisbon, Portugal at the LEAF Awards Ceremony on Friday 26th March 2004 at 21H00
Our thanks to the Members of the International Jury who so graciously gave up their many other duties and found time to participate in the difficult task of judging the LEAF shortlist entries.
Judging took place on Friday 19th March.

The President of the Jury was Gianfranco Moretti, Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett, Italy.
The other jury members were: French Photographer Colette Bouchet Douillard; French Illustrator Alain Voss, Portuguese Art Drector (Euro RSCG) Maria João Coelho; Designer and Ilustrator Wong Kung Cho; Brazilian Art Director Rubens Portella (Washington Olivetto, Lisbon); Account Director Pritesh Dineschandra (GreyHome); Photographer Rui Soares Esteves; James Lanham, Editor prisma:magazine; German Illustrator Manus Huller; English ex-Model Sandra Teixeira (L´Agence Models).

How do you broaden the appeal of the LA Fim Festival beyond a few unshaven existentialists in berets smoking French cigarettes?
DDB los Angeles wanted to be sure that "normal" people knew that while this was a independent film festival, the movies would be entertaining and not just two guys talking about soup in subtitles. To build on the success of the previous campaign "See a movie instead" (an Effie Winner), DDB created a commercial which made everyone feel welcome while hinting at the sexy, edgy, fun movies that would be shown.

A beautiful sexy girl arrives at her apartment with a guy. They are preparing for some hot sex!. She goes to the bathroom, he goes to pour a drink. In the meanwhile we notice a third figure in the room, a black guy watching and eating popcorn like he was at the cinema. In fact that is what he is!
He is watching everything and eating his popcorn. Then he notices the "girl" is urinating standing up and even giving a good shake to something. Oh no! It´s a GUY..
The reaction of the black guy is comic disgust! We suffer with him as the "girl" jumps on the guest and starts giving him what he wasn´t expecting...

Italians the most erotic at LEAFyear2
Austrian agency takes Best of Show (Veja texto em Português/see German text at the end of this page) (*)

The results of the second year of LEAF (Lisbon Erotic Advertising Festival) were announced during a ceremony at the Galveias Palace in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony of LEAFyear2 took place in Lisbon in the Spring of 2002. With the support of the Lisbon City Hall, FIAT, the post-production company Ingreme and the sound studio Indigo, Epson and the Fábrica de Pasteis de Belém (Old Custard Tart Factory) the festival conducted a series of events during the whole week. This culminated in the judging of the shortlist by the International Jury and the Awards Ceremony itself held on the evening of Friday 22nd March at the Galveias Palace.

The events were held in various places around Lisbon: The FNAC Megastore, The Discoveries Monument at the mouth of the Tagus river, the Old Custard Tart Factory, The Havana Club disco and the Salsa Latina nightclub.

Entries were received from 20 countries (one more than the first year) from North to South and from East to West.

From Russia to America and from Brazil to Norway, agencies and production companies delved into their files to find their most erotic spots and press and poster advertising. Cinema advertising was not allowed because it was felt to be too difficult to ascertain its genuine advertising origins.

Morten Peetz-Schou of the Danish design agency Genius chaired the International Jury. Morten also writes for the Danish magazine "Markedsforing".

The other members of the jury were: Maxim Pliousnine, TV journalist and TV Producer

from Russia; the Hungarian journalist

Rubens Portella, the Brazilian

Sessão “In Studio” de Fotografia Erótica

Reunião do Júri do Festival
